The Ad(s) That Doesn't Make Sense

Have you heard that commercial that says, "We'll beat anyone's price or its free!"? If you think about it, there is a thing to this phrase...

Let's say you found a bed at Mattress City(I just made this up at the last moment) for $500, and the store that has the commercial with that phrase(let's call it Larry's) sold the exact mattress for $600. You went to Larry's with proof and everything so the worker will have to beat the price. So, in order to beat the price, Larry's wants to sell that bed to you for $499.99. Technically, they did beat the price, not by much, but nevertheless, Larry's price was cheaper than Mattress City's price. If you're lucky, you might get it for less. When you head on to Larry's, don't be confident that Larry is going to give you a free mattress. You're conversation will probably not go something like..

You: Hey, I found that Mattress City sells this mattress for less, and in your commercial you said that you will beat the price or else give me the mattress for free. SO YOU BETTER GIVE ME A BETTER PRICE OR ELSE!!

Worker: Oh...I completely understand.  I'LL NEVER LOWER THE PRICE FOR YOU, SO YOU CAN GET YOUR A*S A FREE MATTRESS INSTEAD OF PAYING $499.99!!! WE DON'T NEED YOUR MONEY FOR THIS MATTRESS!!!!!!!!

And when you go there, you sorta would expect a free mattress if you can find a place that sells the same mattress for less.

So can you can see in the conversation the the rude worker (as some would say), would be willing to give you a free mattress instead of gaining $499.99 from you. <--I think they would rather take some of your money instead of giving you it for no cost..

I've seen the Magic Tap commercial, and it seems amazing that its hard to not spill milk. I mean, SERIOUSLY, IT'S LIKE THE PEOPLE HAVE VERY SLOW REFLEXES..THEY KEEP ON POURING AND POURING UNTIL THE TABLE IS ALL WET..

What's the worst commercial you've seen?

Poll: Most Commonly Used Anti-Virus Program

The results of the polls below are based from viewer votes. This isn't professional, but just a rough guess as to how common certain AV programs are, and how many people have a high level of protection on their PC. Now to the polls..

Edit: Sorry about the poll's sizes. I didn't know it would be so small. The polls should now be fixed.

Need TV ads Based On Your Living Room Activity?

Similarly like what had been done previously by other companies, Verizon patented a DVR that can watch and listen to the activity going on in your living room, or wherever you decide to place that DVR. Hope its not in the bathroom..

I, myself, think this is undoubtedly creepy, but as hinted earlier, Verizon wasn't the first company to come up with a similar design for a DVR. Both Google and Comcast also did the same thing, but all were unique in their own way. Verizon gave two examples for how the DVR could be useful: sounds of arguing prompt ads for marriage counseling, while sounds of “cuddling” prompts ads for contraceptives.

Mind you, I don't know what 'contraceptives' means, so I didn't looked it up to see what it means before posting this.

Tips to Not Get Hacked on Wizard101

Since I have heard much about people getting hack on Wizard101(especially in UK server), i decided to make this post.

Here's some things you should know about the KingsIsle staff(the people who made Wizard101):

  • On Wizard101, they would have a badge that reads,"KINGSISLE SUPPORT"

  • They would be a pretty high level(like 70-80)

  • Why would they ever give you, a random person, free membership and/or crowns?

  • Wizard101 has ALL your account information, including(but not limited to) your email address, your username, and your password.

  • Don't fall for everything everyone says. -.- Like if a fake Wizard101 fanpage on FB says "It says we have 20 likes, but its really 2,000,000!". If you ever fell for that, especially if your a experienced Facebooker, you really must be desperate for something free on W101, or you are not extremely high in intelligence(no offense to anyone, if this somewhat applies to you).

Here's what you should NEVER do:

  • Give away your account username

  • Give away your account password

  •  Give away any spare accounts that are in the same family account as you are, (delete them off first)

But if you REALLY REALLY believe someone who claims that they want to give to free membership/crowns, and they won't hack you/steal your account, then ONLY give that person your account username.

WHY?

Cause if they were really part of Wizard101, they would already have your password, and they can look it up in their system when they know your account username. Plus, they they said they was going to transfer some of their crowns to you/ gift you a bundle, then they only need your account USERNAME, not your password whatsoever.

Note to people: Don't believe EVERYTHING in an email. Like if it says you got an email from yahoo that says that you have to send them your password for some strange reason, but the email address it came from is like gotchaaccnow@gmail.com, then you should know that it isn't really from yahoo, because if it was, wouldn't yahoo use they own email system and not google's?

Make sure that the email is ACTUALLY sent from their support system(even if they gave a "reason" why they are not using it).

Good luck~ ;)
