Similarly like what had been done previously by other companies, Verizon patented a DVR that can watch and listen to the activity going on in your living room, or wherever you decide to place that DVR. Hope its not in the bathroom..
I, myself, think this is undoubtedly creepy, but as hinted earlier, Verizon wasn't the first company to come up with a similar design for a DVR. Both Google and Comcast also did the same thing, but all were unique in their own way. Verizon gave two examples for how the DVR could be useful: sounds of arguing prompt ads for marriage counseling, while sounds of “cuddling” prompts ads for contraceptives.
Mind you, I don't know what 'contraceptives' means, so I didn't looked it up to see what it means before posting this.
