Whoever you may be texting does not need Textfree to recieve your messages..and you can text anywhere from the world as long as you have, quote "data connection".
If you are more travel savvy and don't get data connection often, then a data plan from a service provider may be better for you..

I've never actually used this program for my device (like I have one..-.-) but I've had it on my computer, and sent a message to an email and it worked..I don't know about sending it to a cellphone since my mom was afraid to pay an extra 20 cents..
