Did You Know?
Random post.. Sort of useful for U.S citizens, not so much for others..
*I may be wrong. As in I worded it incorrectly. Feel free to correct me in the comments.*
The Constitution forbids double jeopardy. It means that you cannot be brought to trial/convicted for the same crime twice. For example, if you were to murder someone, and you got brought to trial but was found innocent, you cannot be jailed for that crime again, which means that after the trial you could go screaming out of the courthouse that you did kill them, but you won't be jailed. The family of the victim could sue you for money though.. Why is this in place? Its so that someone can't keep bringing you to trial. Like if the government brings you to trial for counterfeiting money, and you were found innocent by a jury, the government can't keep bringing you to trial until you were found innocent.
