Genetically Modified T Cells

First, some background...

T Cells are a type of cells in your immune system. This post is kind of a summery sort of thing. This is one of those "learning" posts with information that isn't important for you to know, but its interesting(in my P.O.V). So read on if you want..

Almost forgot.. Source: http://www.uphs.upenn.edu/news/News_Releases/2011/08/t-cells/ & http://www.redorbit.com/news/health/2094065/genetically_modified_serial_killer_t_cells_obliterate_tumors_in_leukemia/

Researchers from 2 places whose names were hard for me to spell extracted T cells from a group of people with CLL(its a disease that I can't spell). Basically, they modified the cells, turning them into "serial killers" as they described them, and, according to Carl June, the tumors were destroyed within 3 weeks, in a more violent way than the researchers originally expected. Survived the "buch of commas" sentence?

So, read more at the link stated above. :P
