It seems like nowadays, I only post news stuff I see from MSN. True..but its the ones I find interesting. So in this post, we will be talking about a fungal infection thingy and a ladybug that can retract its head into its neck. I will be making a sentece or so from each paragraph.

Black Mold Meningitis Causes Difficulties

Because of contaminated shots, black mold crept into the spines of a lot of people..

Black mold(I think that's what you call it) had never been seen to cause meningitis(those long medical names.. -.-). Fungal meningitis is blamed for the death of 24 people and sickening over 300 people.

The fungus, with its "special" traits and the fact that it was injected near the spine, helped the mold sneak past the immune system, even in completely healthy people. The black mold found as the main cause of this is Exserohilum rostratum-commonly found in dirt and grass.

How scientists think the fungus is able to get to the brain without dying by the immune system:

  • the steroid injected near the spine reduced inflammation(read the MSN post to find out more)

  •  The mold grows silently until there is enough of it and it then burrows a small hole in the lining of the spinal canal.

  • Brown-black mold produces melanin, and it defends itself against anti-fungal drugs and immune system attacks.

Did you noticed I made a new page called "Games!"? If you hover your mouse over it, you will see a dropdown menu that has the name of the games i created. Note: I will update the "Enemies Unlashed" page from that dropdown menu when I finish making another version of the game. I am currently working on one right now, and here's a hint to what it may be about: Underground.
